The Penguins told me too...

There are several reasons that I would come to the Writing Center. Like it's been said, to bounce ideas off others, especially those who may not be bogged down in the subject like you, really helps to get the juices flowing again. Also, no matter how many drafts you do, it's unlikely you'll be able to find all your own mistakes, while somebody else may be able to take a step back and say what you could work on or what you need to fix. Being a Writing Center tutor for a couple years now, I know that I can come to the Writing Center with the expectation that I'll be getting help on a paper that's not just a quick skim over it, but instead an opportunity to discuss the points of my paper. When I'm allowed to do that, I can better see the own strengths and weaknesses in my paper, and therefore I can work to better address them both in my writing.
